Privacy policy
Caboose is a Mexican Train dominoes game you play on your own phone against computer players, with a score pad for games played at the table. Below: the one outside service it uses (Google's ads), the choices you have about it, and the few records the game keeps for itself.
In effect from 23 September 2026.
The ads that pay for the game
The game pays its way with ads from Google AdMob, in three places only:
- a small banner on the main menu, the new-game screen and the score sheet;
- a full-screen ad at most once every three hands, only between hands and never during one;
- optional videos you choose to watch for extra hints or a new tile style.
To pick, show and count those ads and to stop ad fraud, Google may process your device's advertising identifier (only where you allow it), your IP address and the rough location it points to, basic device and app details, and how you interact with the ads. Google explains this in its privacy policy and in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Caboose asks Google for ads rated suitable for general audiences only. The score pad never shows ads.
Signals you control
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland Google's consent form appears the first time you open Caboose. You can change your answer later in Caboose under Settings, Privacy choices.
- On iPhone and iPad Caboose asks for permission to track only after that form. You can change it at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. If you decline, ads are not personalised.
- On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's settings under Google or Privacy, Ads.
Every answer leaves the full game, the score pad and every house rule in place.
Records the game keeps on this device
So that you can pick up where you left off, Caboose writes a few records into its own storage on the phone or tablet:
- the game in progress, kept as the list of moves played this hand (this is what makes Undo and Continue work);
- scores of finished hands and your statistics;
- your house rules and display settings, including the names you give yourself and the computer players;
- score pads you keep for games played with a real set: the players' names you type and the scores you enter, and your finished score pads;
- how many times the app has been opened and games finished, so it can ask for a store rating at most once per version, after a finished game;
- hints you have saved, tile styles you have unlocked, and whether the tracking question has been answered.
Caboose runs no servers and has no sign-in, so these records never travel to AppFellas. Remove Caboose and they go with it; only a phone backup you made yourself (iCloud or Google) may still hold a copy, as it would for any app.
Never requested
Caboose does not ask for your contacts, location, photos, camera or microphone. It has no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own, and AppFellas does not sell or share information about you.
Younger players
Caboose is made for adults and is not aimed at children under 13. The app itself collects nothing about anyone, children included.
When this page changes
If what the app keeps or how its ads work changes, this page is updated first and the date at the top changes with it.
