Privacy in Nine Down

Nine Down holds two dice games, Shut the Box and Liar’s Dice, and plays them entirely on your phone: you start playing straight from the menu, and AppFellas runs no server behind the game. This page lists the little information involved and who handles it.

In effect from 23 September 2026.

What the game keeps on your phone

To remember where you are, Nine Down stores these in the app’s own storage on your device:

These records never leave the device: the game has no code that uploads them, and we could not read them if we wanted to. Uninstalling Nine Down removes them together with the app, and a fresh install starts from an empty table.

Nine Down does not use your microphone, camera, contacts, photos or location.

Ads

The game is free and shows ads through Google AdMob. Ads never appear during a round: banners sit on the menu and on the match result, and a full-screen ad can appear only after a finished match. Ads are limited to content rated for general audiences.

Where the law asks for it (for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states), Google’s consent form asks for your choices when the app starts. On iPhone, the app then asks whether it may use your device’s advertising identifier. If you say no, you still get ads, just not ones chosen with that identifier.

To serve and measure ads, Google may collect information such as your device type, IP address and ad interactions. Google explains this in its privacy policy and in how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Ratings

After a win or a shut box, and never in the first session, the app may open your store’s own rating sheet, at most once per app version. Whatever you choose there goes to Apple or Google, not to us.
