Tallyard is a material calculator. You type measurements, and a price if you want a cost, and the phone works out how much to buy. Those numbers are not sent anywhere.
| Data | Where it goes |
|---|---|
| Measurements, prices and results you enter | Stays on your phone |
| Settings, favorites, recent calculations, jobs and their notes, remembered prices | Stays on your phone |
| Advertising identifier, IP address (approximate location), ad views and taps | Google AdMob and its ad partners, to show and measure ads |
| Analytics and crash reports | Not collected in this version |
Where the ads come from
Tallyard is free and carries ads served by Google AdMob: a banner at the foot of the home screen and under a result, and now and then a full-screen ad when you leave a result. To serve and measure those ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect your device's advertising identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be worked out), basic device information and whether you viewed or tapped an ad, and may share it with Google and its advertising partners. How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Turning ad data down
- Google's consent message. In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, it appears before any ad is requested, and Google's consent tool keeps your answer on the device. Settings > Ad privacy choices brings the message back whenever you want to change it.
- iPhone tracking prompt. Tallyard asks through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Choose Ask App Not to Track and your advertising identifier is not used to follow you across apps; ads can still appear. The iPhone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking changes the answer later.
- Android advertising ID. Reset or delete it in the phone's settings under Privacy > Ads.
The job records on this phone
These are written to Tallyard's own storage on the device and are never uploaded to us:
- your unit system, currency, default waste allowance, language, appearance and haptics settings;
- the calculators you star as favorites;
- your last 30 calculations: the measurements, waste allowance and any price you typed, plus a short result summary, so you can reopen a job with the same numbers;
- the jobs you create: their names, the calculations you add to them and any note you write;
- the last price and waste allowance you used for each material, so the next job starts with them, and the numbers of a calculator you left before calculating;
- small counters that space out ads and the rare rating request (how many calculations you have completed, how many times the app was opened, and when a full-screen ad or rating request last appeared).
Tallyard runs no server of its own. You can clear the records piece by piece: Settings > Clear recent calculations for the history, Settings > Forget saved prices for remembered prices, and the delete button on a job's page for that job. Uninstalling Tallyard removes whatever is left.
Copy puts a result on the clipboard as plain text; Tallyard never reads the clipboard. Share opens your phone's own share sheet with the result or job list as plain text, and it goes only where you send it.
What Tallyard never asks for
No location, camera, microphone, photos or contacts. The internet is used only for ads and the consent message; every calculation works without a connection.
Who it is for
