Foldaway Help

How do I play?

Tap an arrow. If nothing is in its way, it slides off the sheet and folds into a paper bird. If another arrow blocks it, it bumps back and one of your three hearts is used. Clear every arrow to finish the sheet. Every sheet can be solved.

Can I see where an arrow will go before I tap it?

Yes. Hold an arrow for a moment: a dashed line shows its path and where it would stop. Holding never counts as a move.

I tapped between two arrows. Did I lose a heart?

No. When a tap lands between two arrows, nothing moves and both arrows glow for a moment. Tap the one you mean.

What happens when I run out of hearts?

You can watch a short video for one more heart and carry on from where you are, or start the sheet over at once, for free. There is no energy and nothing to wait for. If a video cannot load, the first one on a sheet is on us. In Zen mode, and with "Hearts in Journey" turned off in Settings, there are no hearts at all.

How do the origami figures work?

Every ten sheets make one chapter, and each chapter folds one figure. Each sheet you solve for the first time adds a fold. The last sheet of a chapter is shaped like the figure itself. Finished figures wait for you in the Album, where you can also play any finished sheet again.

Why is a sheet heart-shaped?

Some sheets come in shapes. The rules stay the same: arrows fly across the empty paper around the shape.

Can I turn off the music notes?

Yes: Settings → Musical folds. Sound and vibration have their own switches too.

When do ads appear?

Full-screen ads never appear at launch or while you solve a sheet, and there are none in your first seven sheets; after that, at most one every three sheets and never two within two and a half minutes. Videos play only when you choose them, for an extra hint or heart. A small banner sits under the board. Turning off sound also mutes ads.

A video didn't load. What now?

The first time it happens on a sheet, you get the hint or heart anyway. If it happens again, try once more in a moment; it usually means your connection is slow.

Where is my progress saved?

Only on your phone. Foldaway has no account and no server. On Android, device backup can bring your progress to a new phone. See the privacy policy for details.
